This section contains pictures which I have taken which are free to download. Some contain quotes from Tanach (the Bible) or Chazal (our Sages of blessed memory) and come with a d’var Torah to explain the concept behind them.
Please note they are free to download and share. They are fairly high resolution and so you are also welcome to have them printed. Many companies offer poster size printing services or printing onto canvas. Please help yourselves!
כִּי שֶׁבַע יִפּוֹל צַדִּיק וָקָם
This photograph was taken in Northwood at dusk. I have tweaked the contrast to bring out the colours of the sky and darken the foreground. The verse is from Proverbs (24:16) and means ‘A righteous person falls seven times and gets up…’. The idea is that at difficult times in life, one must see each fall as an opportunity to rise up even greater, and grow from the experience. The interesting aspect of a sunset, is that without prior knowledge, one could view it as a sunset or a sunrise; dusk or dawn. Life’s difficulties can be viewed as a process leading to darkness (dusk) or an opportunity for growth and even greater heights (dawn).
